Grated coconut – ½ of a coconut / 4 handfuls
Rice – 5 tbsp (I used kuthari. You can use any variety rice)
Jaggery - 175g
Roasted and peeled groundnut – ¾ cup (Powder finely)
Dry roast rice in a heavy bottomed pan till rice pops up.
Once it is ¾th done, switch off and keep stirring till it is done.
Once cool, finely powder.
Heat a pan and add coconut.
Dry roast till it becomes dry. No need to wait till the color changes.
Transfer it to a bowl.
Add ¾ water and jaggery to the pan.
Once it melts and comes to a string consistency, lower the flame and add coconut and powdered groundnut. You can also add cardamom powder at this stage.
Mix well and switch off.
Once it cools down a bit, add powdered rice.
Pinch small balls and roll it into balls.
Enjoy the sweet balls.
